Venice Kichura
Venice Kichura is a freelance writer who writes on a variety of subjects. She holds a special passion for topics relating to art and needlecrafts. She also enjoys writing about faith-based matters, especially practical articles in how to grow as a Christian.
After graduating from the University of Texas, Venice began her writing career as a feature writer for a weekly South Florida newspaper, and continued to have her articles published in both print and online publications. She's also worked as a substitute teacher for ten years in both Florida and Connecticut.
Besides writing non-fictional articles, Venice has written numerous flash-fiction stories by participating in the Weekly Writing Challenge, sponsored by FaithWriters.com, where she’s placed several times in the top ten winning entries, earning her six Editors’ Choice awards. Her award-winning entries have appeared in FaithWriters’ quarterly books. Authors Allison Bootke and Cheryl Hutchings featured her article, “How God Used Baby Booties” in their book “God Allows U-Turns---for Women”, published in 2006. She's also written books reviews for the Christianity section of "About.com".
As a contributing writer for Demand Studios since October of 2008, she's written more more than 750 articles on various topics including health, hobbies, travel, cultures and other subjects. She has produced 285 articles for Associated Content, where she writes on a variety of topics.
Venice has written several eBooks where she covers topics such as her overseas travels, pencil drawing, Christian short stories and other subjects.
Also, an artist, Venice specializes in pencil drawings. She lives in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains of Dahlonega with her husband, Ed, a retired engineer. Here in this quaint mountain village she finds endless inspiration for her drawings, paintings, articles, short stories, and poems. When she isn't writing, she and Ed enjoy their annual trips to countries overseas.
